Tēnā kotou , tēnā kotou, tēnā kotou katoa
We are very excited to welcome you all to a very special NZ IMSANZ conference in 2022. It is with great delight that we can confirm the exciting news that this meeting will be held in stunning Fiordland, more specifically in Te Anau.
As clinicians we value ‘kanohi ki te kanohi’ or face-to-face communication and understand that our conferences are more than a series of lectures; they are also a chance to network, share experiences and engage in informal social activities with both new and long-standing colleagues. We also increasingly understand that the on-going COVID-19 pandemic requires a more flexible approach to our regular NZ-based meeting.
Therefore, the 2022 IMSANZ NZ Conference will also be presented in a ‘Hybrid’ format similar to the 2021 meeting in Rotorua. This will be in-person for those able to attend, and online for those New Zealand and Australian colleagues who wish to attend or present virtually. This also will ensure that the conference can proceed regardless of any last minute COVID-19 issues.
Te Anau sits in the heart of beautiful Fiordland. There are a wide ranging number of activities locally including jet boating, glow worm caves, mountain biking trails, and some of New Zealand’s great walks. It is a perfect chance to visit the iconic Milford Sound. It is also an opportunity to sample some great Southland fare, and with any luck the Bluff Oyster season will be up and running by then.
The conference will be held in the very heart of the town centre, with plenty of onsite accommodation. We will be providing coach transfers from (and to) Queenstown which can booked during the conference registration process as well as a raft of local social activities that will make the event even more enticing.
We would encourage you to make the most of this opportunity and take some extra time to enjoy the area and all it has to offer with your families.
