Bronny Trewin is a Senior Clinical Psychologist who has worked at the Burwood Pain Management Centre in Christchurch since 2009. Bronny is passionate about empowering individuals to firstly understand what is happening in their body associated with pain, and to provide validation about the diagnosis of chronic pain itself. This then enables people to comprehend a biopsychosocial model for treatment which targets factors such as grief, fear, stress, avoidance and broader psychosocial factors influencing their function and disability. Alongside supporting individuals to live with pain, Bronny also enjoys working with professionals such as GPs, teachers or secondary care providers who may also find themselves working with people who have chronic pain. She enjoys helping practitioners to understand more about pain, and to have the language and skills to support them in their own working environments.
