Practical Tips On Urticaria, Angioedema And Anaphylaxis
Urticaria, Angioedema and Anaphylaxis can be caused by IgE mediated allergy, and allergy is often the first cause that comes to a clinician’s mind when presented with a patient with these issues in the emergency department or on the wards. Alternatively though, most urticaria and a lot of angioedema is actually not due to IgE mediated allergy. How can we start to distinguish one cause from another at the bedside? Furthermore, what management steps can we take from there given the different possible causes?
Andy will present practical bedside tips to help differentiate between possible causes, and some tips on management from that point on.
