Dr. Clover trained in Internal Medicine at Charity Hospital in New Orleans before pursuing Infectious Disease training at the Mount Sinai Medical Center and New York University in New York City. After several years of practice in Infectious Diseases and Travel Medicine in Denver, Colorado he moved back to New Zealand where he was fortunate to be a Consultant in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases at Dunedin Public Hospital, as well as a Senior Clinical Lecturer at Otago University. He first certified in Advanced Wilderness Life Support (AWLS) in 2008 in New Zealand and went on to become a Lead Instructor. He later certified and became a civilian instructor in the UIAA accredited Diploma in Mountain Medicine (DiMM) with the US Army. He was Medical Director of the Hardrock 100 endurance run in Silverton, Colorado from 2013-18. He has published in the fields of HIV/AIDS, Infectious Diseases, Wilderness Medicine and Endurance/Race Medicine.
