Michelle Downie is a General Physician and Endocrinologist who has been based at Southland Hospital for the past 7 years. She completed her General Medicine training in Dunedin, London and Wellington and has post graduate qualifications in medical education from St Georges University of London.
She is the outgoing chair of the RACP Advanced Training Committee for General Medicine, having served on this committee for several years. She has also served on the RACP NZ Adult Medicine Division Education Committee, and is a current member of the RACP written exam question writing panel. She is also a previous longstanding member of the IMSANZ council, and a current member of the NZSSD executive.
