Mark Jeffery is a Medical Oncologist in the Canterbury Regional Cancer & Haematology Service, Christchurch Hospital. He has over 25 years of clinical experience as a cancer specialist working in Dunedin for 7 years and Christchurch for 20 years. He has been a clinical director (leader) in both cancer centres. He has maintained a career long interest in issues relating to the evidence underlying clinical practise and is an active participant in cancer clinical trials.
Since Jan 2016 he has also taken on a senior clinical leadership role at Canterbury DHB as Clinical Director Medical Capability Development. Through that role he has developed a strong interest in maintaining the well-being of medical staff and exploring ways to minimize professional burnout.
